Hey Guys welcome back ! So today is Wednesday and that means we are doing our W.O.W posts. Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly MeMe hosted by Jill from breakingthespine.blogspot.com. In this Meme we share books that we are waiting to be released.🙂 So lets get down to business, shall we?

This Weeks Pick is:

The Treachery of Beautiful Things

By Ruth Long

Published by Penguin Group USA

Publication Date : August 16th 2012

A darkly compelling mix of romance, fairy tale, and suspense from a new voice in teen fiction
The trees swallowed her brother whole, and Jenny was there to see it. Now seventeen, she revisits the woods where Tom was taken, resolving to say good-bye at last. Instead, she’s lured into the trees, where she finds strange and dangerous creatures who seem to consider her the threat. Among them is Jack, mercurial and magnetic, with secrets of his own. Determined to find her brother, with or without Jack’s help, Jenny struggles to navigate a faerie world where stunning beauty masks some of the most treacherous evils, and she’s faced with a choice between salvation or sacrifice–and not just her own.
Why Im waiting on The Treachery of Beautiful Things? I love reading books from new authors to see how they tell a story and t hopefully find a new favorite author to rave about. Also this reminds me a little of a series I LOVED Iron Fey By Julie Kagawa. I also loved the Wicked Lovely series so in short I love anything to do with fairies and fairy tales. So I can not wait to get my hands on this book in August.
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Hey there nice to see you back again!🙂

This is my first time doing Waiting on Wednesday so here is a little about this Meme. First of all Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Breaking the Spine ( http://breakingthespine.blogspot.com/ ) in this Meme we share a novel that we are waiting for release.

This weeks pick is:

Incarnation By Emma Cornwall

Published by Gallery Books

Pubilication Date: September 18th 2012

Lucy Weston tracks down the novelist Bram Stroker in her search to reveal the dark force who made her a vampire—and regain her humanity in the process. In the steampunk world of Victorian London, Lucy Weston, a character in Dracula, seeks out Bram Stoker to discover why he deliberately lied about her in his popular novel. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she tracks the creature who transformed her from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme. Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy battles her thirst for blood as she struggles to stop a catastrophic war that will doom vampires and humans alike. Ultimately, she makes a choice that illuminates for her—and for us—the true nature of what it means to be human.

Why Im waiting on Incarnation? This sounds way to awesome I love when there is a mixture of the paranormal with historical characters. Not to mention it is steampunk and I’m loving all the steampunk I’ve been reading recently. I can’t wait to read this book.
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It’s there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she’s never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed. Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting is by far one of the best Young Adult books I have read all year. I will be completely honest with you all I am becoming very hesitant with what books I choose to read in the YA Genre. So many stories are the same thing told over and over and sometimes I just want something new. The Pledge is everything that I could have asked for in a YA book. The plot was unique and the world building was not over whelming at all. I liked how we got all the information we needed for this new to us world yet is wasn’t dumped on us all at once.

As for writing style goes this book switches between character perspectives it is told in both first and third person. This could have been confusing but derting categorized everything wonderfully to keep the reader from being confused. When we are switched to another persons perspective we are made aware of it instead of just throwing the reader head first into a new…head. The first page in the new perspective would have the characters name in place of a chapter number.

I loved all the characters of The Pledge it really didnt matter if I wanted to love them or not, I did! They were like real people who were neither all perfect or all bad. Each one  having their own faults as well as something that makes them stand out. Every single character was both weak and strong just like we all are. Kimberly Derting breathed life into these characters and made me fall in love.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE if you love a good story Buy it and READ IT. If you love a plot that is complex but not confusing READ IT. And if you want a book that makes you scream and jump up and down when you find out there is a sequel coming out REEEAAADDD IT! You get my drift. Go out Buy this book and happy reading.🙂

-Whit

PS-There will be a sequel it is called The Essence and will be released January 1rst 2013🙂
